Engagement examples & costs
These examples turn each offer into a practical shape: the time involved, the work covered, the professional fee and the likely client total. They are useful starting points, not a trapdoor marked “scope”.
Planning figures, not automatic quotations. Prices are shown excluding VAT, with illustrative VAT at 20% where applicable. Final proposals confirm scope, scheduling, expenses, payment timing and tax treatment before work begins.
Choose an engagement
01 / Advisory
Advisory is deliberately small. It is useful when a decision, document, risk or route forward needs experienced challenge without turning into a miniature consulting programme.
Normally invoiced when the session is booked. Any additional review or follow-up is agreed before more time is used.
02 / Rapid diagnostic
A compact assessment for a clearly defined problem, using enough evidence and conversation to avoid mistaking the loudest symptom for the cause.
Three focused days across one to two weeks
Typical payment shape: 50% to begin, 50% on delivery of the agreed output.
Illustrative cost
03 / Health check
A broader review of direction, ownership, delivery and operations, designed to identify both structural risk and the useful capability already present.
Five focused days across two to three weeks
Typical payment shape: 50% to begin, 50% on delivery of the agreed output.
Illustrative cost
04 / Discovery sprint
For opportunities that deserve proper investigation before the organisation hardens around an answer it has not yet earned.
Nine focused days across three to four weeks
Typical payment shape: 40% to begin, 30% at the midpoint, 30% on delivery.
Illustrative cost
05 / Delivery recovery
A hands-on intervention for a platform, programme or service that has become difficult to steer, govern or deliver.
Around 17 focused days across four weeks
Typical payment shape: 40% to begin, 30% at the midpoint, 30% at the end of the intervention.

06 / Fractional leadership
Fractional work is planned capacity, not unlimited access. Choose a useful number of reserved days and a commitment long enough for the work to move.
Illustrative engagement
Reserved capacity is normally invoiced monthly in advance. Unused days, rollover and additional capacity are agreed explicitly rather than left to folklore.
07 / Embedded leadership
Use the model below to understand the likely budget for a regular weekly commitment. Responsibilities, working pattern and employment-status considerations are agreed before the engagement begins.
Illustrative engagement
Normally invoiced monthly against the agreed schedule and approved days. Longer, predictable commitments may support a rate toward the lower end of the published range.
Start with the problem
You do not need to select a package perfectly before getting in touch. A role outline, delivery problem or early conversation is enough to work out what level of help makes sense.
